Rumi’s words divulge the opportunity we all have to live passionately in order to realize our fullest sense of aliveness. To reach the deepest depths and the highest heights of knowing who we are, we must choose to at times be vulnerable, to take risks, to embrace our painful experiences and to linger in darkness. Our fullest potential is buried in the lessons that come with suffering, and in being brave enough to forge a new path through the unknown. In this way, the fire that burns is also love, whether we are talking about openness and vulnerability in loving relationships, or extending the concept infinitely outwards to include any thread of connection.
